Why Learn a Foreign Language
Do you know that most spoken language in world is not English.Its Chinese. Spanish is number two at most spoken language.What we don't realise is that there are so many languages other than English that we dont know and how beautiful to express yourself in them.But why learn any other language if you know English.Here is the answer
- Its fun.Honestly i am not a french speaker neither my first language is English but still learning languages other than your own can be fun and great hobby and surely a way to impress others.
- Money Making Opportunities:Interpreters are a definite need when there are two persons with different mother languages.Learning french,Spanish or any other can lead your way to becoming an interpreter and finding some pretty cool jobs.Also there are many universties that offer courses on foreign languages.Who knows you might find your way in as a teacher.This are only a few of the examples of way you can earn money by learning foreign languages
- Education Opportunites:TOEFL and IELTS are not the only requirements for proving yourself an internatiuaonal student.Apply to European Universities and you will realise there is more than English to be learned.Having learned these languages will enable you to adjust to academic environment more easily and will allows you to apply for those programmes where English is not the primary language.
- Literature and Arts:I liked French Movies but i didn't know what were they saying and i was forced to ruin my good time by looking at subtitles all the time.Furthermore,translation cannot really justify the literature in original language.Something is always lost in translation.Learning your desired foreign language will help you extract full meaning.
- Travelling :Imagine you are in France and you can't find a way to Eiffel Tower . Would you start to find out someone to takes clues to reach there or find someone who is going to speak English.Surely the first option seems more suitable.Looking at signboards that read some alien language and being in a community that speaks a language completely unknown to you is terrifying and frustrating.
